Serpent Venom is a formation from UK making Doom Metal. The band started in 2008 released their debut album in 2011. This year the band is back with a new full length album. “Of Things Seen and Unseen” is out now.
As an album like “Of Things Seen and Unseen” it is perhaps not a really unique item, but for the doom fans there is probably enough to find that keeps them happy. The band has that psychedelic edge on it. A wink at the past and leave the modernistic approach be there, but not too obvious. Serpent Venom is a band that likes to play around a bit. A little funky twist here and there, some little step off the obvious trailed path marks the band’s own face and is exactly that thing that makes this album so interesting. If you listen it once, you are too shallow into it, listen it twice and you get closer but after that you start to get the feel. Simply said, this album has to grow on you.
The little details make that this album is one that stands out greatly in the variety of Doom that gets out there. Serpent Venom steps out of the comfort zone and goes just a little further. “Of Things Seen and Unseen” is a perfect exhibition of that.
