Desireless is a French vocaliste named Claudie Fritsch-Mentrop. She has released various albums through the years and now returns with the album “Noun”.
Of course Desireless is mostly known by the monsterhit “Voyage Voyage”. The info that comes with the album seems to state that there is a desire to break free from that song and become with something else, but listening at this album you will never break free from the actual ‘voyage’ as Claudie takes you on a trip to “Les Jardins de Babylone” and “L’or Du Rhin” for example. And that you may not take to the words only, but when listening to the music it selves it is obvious that Claudie got her inspiration at various corners of the world. It really turned out to be an album of the world and when getting engaged you must be aware that you will be taken to unexpected places. You won’t get an album of a sweet lady singing shallow songs, but pieces of music of great allure. A variation of other vocals are included, from a child’s voice to a deeper male voice. There are heavy electronic sounds, as you may find in various gothic and industrial albums as well, and later you get a piano, with an emotional chanson. Variation of different corners of the musical playfield showing you that with Desireless you are guaranteed of a wide and intense experience. “Noun” is an album you have to get if you want more than what majority of acts will be giving you.
