Skyliner is Heavy/Power Metal formation from USA. The band formed in 2000 but did not release a lot of material so far. This year the band comes with their debut full length album called “Outsiders”.
For all those guitarists and lengthy solo fans: this is a release you will have to put yourself to. Skyliner has plenty of time reserved for bringing you solo’s as epic and long as they want to go with it. And not without success. The band knows what to do to impress the listener. It’s varied, the songs bring you something new in each track which makes that you are still listening at the end although at the very end of “Worlds of Conflict”, a song that plays over 20 minutes, they may be stretch it a bit too much. But nevertheless an interesting way to end to end your album. But, besides the guitars there are also the drums that have their time to shine. Ben Brenner makes sure he is not left behind in the mix and makes himself stand upfront which is a definite plus for the sound as he knows how to bring the whole into a steady balance and make sure that no one breaks away from it.
“Outsiders” is an excellent release for the band. A good debut which they have taken their time for.
