Klangstabil was formed in 1994 by Maurizio Blanco and Boris May. Since 1995 more than a dozen releases have been published on vinyl, cd, and digital download formats. This year the duo comes with the release “Shadowboy”.
The guys may have chosen an Electronic influences but it must be said that in “Shadowboy” you can find some Hiphop references as well. The vocals are an important part of the release. The words tell you a story, to make you aware of, to make you think of but above all to say what needs to be said. Listen to “Pay With Friendship” and get inspired by the story, it is one that applies to basically anyone’s life. Listen to “1 of 100” and get the same sort of vibe over it.
Not all songs are in English which creates some diversity into it and gives you an opportunity to let not only the words take you, but make you put your attention towards the instrumental parts as well. Those support the story well, calm when needed, more dramatic when needed, simply making the music flow as easily as it does.
“Shadowboy” is certainly a great release, it comes straight from the heart and is very honest. Surprising, refreshing and one of THE albums of the year.
