The Dark Unspoken is a formation that has been founded in 1997. The guys make Electro music and are currently releasing their fourth full length album called: “Beyond Your Control”.
Originally The Dark Unspoken was a solo project but through the years it grew onto a band with the line-up they have now. The guys all seem to have brought their own influences as their sound comes with some diversity. Opener “Life Cycle” is very playful while after that the darkness comes forward a bit more. The surprise comes at track number eight: “Burn Out” featuring IVI. Perhaps this track is not recorded the best way possible but with the female vocals, the catchiness and the backing vocals the track sticks in mind most.
In “Leaving Bodies” we find the darkest, doomiest track on the release. It has this ambient touch over it and sets a bit apart from the rest while it still has this recognizable tune coming back into it. As closer the album has a couple of bonustracks, different versions of earlier released tracks and a remix of the track “Breakthrough”. A nice add for the fans.
Overall “Beyond Your Control” is an album that carries some calm Electro songs, maybe in the productions there is still some to win for the band, to make the songs come alive a bit more, give it just that bit extra.
