In Gowan Ring is a Singer/Songwriter that combines Folk within his sound. The project is going on for many years already and while album “The Glinting Spade” has been sold out long time since it is original release dates back already to 1999, it is now opening up the opportunities for the collector who had not been able to get their hands on it yet as it is re-released this year.
Some droning sound is often leading you into these songs, the pain and mystery surrounds you but the vocals will give you some comforting relief. When the warm sound, a more relaxed atmosphere comes in you feel more at ease listening to “The Glinting Spade”. Eventually you’ll be guided to the hidden treasures on the release. “To Thrum A Glassy Stem” is a track that may remind you at some 70’s music in a way, but with a more modern twist to it. The guitars are kept modest but are leading. Here and there perhaps you may have expected to have a little more development in tempo coming in but the album remains to go on in the same tempo. This may be a trap, the point that people may get lost, but furthermore it is a good album which has dreamy and diverse tracks. A new chance to get the album for those who had not got it yet.
