The US band Shock Therapy has a long history. After numerous releases the band came with their first live release “Live From Hell”.
It is definitely not a pretty release, this “Life From Hell” by Shock Therapy but that seem to be the whole attitude of the band. The claim that they are real, no ‘fancy intro’s’ but you get what you get. The band gets announced as Dark-Electro-Wave-Rock but it seems like the guys have a whole punk rock attitude considering what they all shout out between their songs and the lyrics give you that feeling also. The band recorded this release in 1995, which perhaps also helps with it being a bit shabby recording. It is quite flat, no contrast into the sound which makes it sometimes just frustrating as you hear the elements that would have stand out so much if you see it live are hold back. If you want to get to know the band by this album, you are probably very disappointed as it will not give you a great impression of a live show. It just does not bring you into the state of imagining it happens all around you. For the fans it may be an interesting memory of a concert but it is certainly not for everyone.
