Les Fleurs Du Mal is a Gothic formation from Sweden. It exists out of the two brothers Grimm and they released a debut album called “I” before. Now the guys are back with a new full length album called: “Concrete Ravings” which out now.
The qualities of this formation are coming forward after only a few tracks, the band is perfectly capable of creating dark romantic songs, deep voice, mellow and with a scent of mystery over them. With that they are not just creating random songs, but songs that are catchy and speak to you. This quality is not given to all the project that are found in this genre. And then, the band is not scared of a little experimentation. Putting a guitar in a bit more prominent position when they think it is needed , like in the title track “Concrete Ravings” in which they allow to guitar to step up front for a bit. It’s a good thing they are doing that, because that sets the needed variance within the tracks. Yet, the band could have an encouragement to take on even more of those moments to step out of it, because that makes that the band would reach a wider audience than they might get now. It’s up to them if that is desirable, but while listening a fine album like this you really wish the band a lot of fans, they are worth it.
