Metal from Sweden? Plenty of big names to come up with. Say, In Flames, The Haunted, Hammerfall and you have a couple of names that have band members in The Resistance. The Resistance is formed in 2011 and makes Death Metal. A debut full length album called “Scars” is out now.
With some strong names in the line up you will have some expectations of this release and it must be said that you won’t be disappointed. The guys had obviously a good vision of what they wanted to bring and that results in a collection of strong songs. These are full of aggression, no holding back on that. The vocals are raw and Marco Aro shows that he knows moderation when needed by not overdoing it all. Then there are these explosive drums that give the whole such a strong backbone that the rest comes all easily. But do these guys allow it to come easily, no way. They top it up with a wild package of riffs which makes you wonder how the guys managed to put it together in such a way that each has the time to stand out and shine on this album. Good, the puzzle obviously got finished well and when seeing the whole picture you are presented with a stunning result. So, The Resistance has made a debut album that shines and makes hungry for more. Can I have another 10 like that please?
