Walking Papers is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 2012. The band is formed by Jeff Angell (vocals, guitar) and Barrett Martin (drums, percussion). They added former Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, and The Missionary Position’sBenjamin Anderson (keyboards) to the lineup following their contributions to the debut album.

At first it comes across as an album that is full of whining, complaining and criticism. Yet the duo Jeff and Barrett do not really mean to be all about the negativity. It just has that attitude which is mainly caused by the on-going guitar riffs that seem to ride forth on each other and never sees a destination. Kind of proving your luck in jumping at a random bus and see where you end up.
As a tourguide you have to deal with Jeff that does not make it easy for you to enjoy the ride with his voice telling you about what to discover on the road. But if you don’t open your eyes and ears you will miss out on the beauty in these darkest corners. And that is your trap, the unmistakable option of putting the album away too fast. You won’t discover the calm and easy going parts where you get some space to stroll around and dream away, forget about the time. The piano parts will give you the direction of where to look for it, just open your mind for it.

If you have found the time and dedication to dig into this release of “Walking Papers” you will find pretty things ready for you, just take your time for it, listen a couple times carefully and then you will get the most out of it.
