Stone Sour – House of Gold and Bones Pt. 2

Releasedate: 05-04-2013; Label: Roadrunner Records
By: Nina Mende

After “House Of Gold And Bones Pt. 1” the band around Corey Taylor has now released the second piece “House Of Gold And Bones Pt. 2”.

This album comes with twelve songs, so one more than on part 1. One thing is sure: Part 2 is just as brilliant as part 1. The lyrics are deep, the music is catchy and strong, the pace of the songs varies between fast and slow. Some of the latter songs on “House Of Gold And Bones Pt. 2” remind of songs that we have heard on the first part. But when you listen closer you can hear the difference clearly. The album is a quite serious one. While part 1 is quite hard, this release is more quiet and in depth. That does not mean “House Of Gold And Bones Pt. 2” is not kicking ass. This album has tough songs too. Shouted vocals and guitar riffs that blow your mind. And yet, it still seems a little more calm and tragic than the previous part. Like the backside if it. Both albums together complete a picture, and yet, they are perfect as individuals as well.

Part 1 and 2 don’t need each other and yet belong together. An oxymoron. Brilliant. Mastermind Corey Taylor has done it again. Creating a beautiful piece of art. Definitely a must have. Not only for fans of Slipknot and Corey Taylor. Go get it now and make up your own mind.
