Releasedate: 2013
By: Sabine van Gameren
Bauda is a formation from Chile. It is started in 2005 as a solo project but in 2012 some more members got included. That year the band also released a second full length album called: “Euphoria… of Flesh, Men and The Great Escape”.
Melancholy is all about this release, something dreamy, calm and yet so much hysteria can be found in the release. They love to take you to places, a trip and be your guide through emotional sights, give you something like an explanation yet the opportunity to leave it up for your own interpretation and opinions. Great guitar riffs are forcing your ears to open up and make it so easy to feel the essence of the sound. There is an actual theme to the album which focuses around an old whaling station in Chile. An interesting theme to work with, maybe it seems far from our bed here in Europe but the band makes things come closer if you care to listen to it.
Even though the album contains a lot of lengthy songs, it will keep you listening through the full tracklist. A captivating release that is made with passion and listens easily. What a pleasant surprise!
