Sabled Sun is a ‘Post-Apocalyptic Dark Ambient’ project by Simon Heath (Atrium Carceri). The album “2145” has been out for a while already and a following up is out now, but let’s have a look at this release first.
“2145” is a release that has a quite calm atmosphere. The stress is on the emptiness and there is no huge contrast in the way that the drama comes to take that over, it stays at that same level. That does not mean you will feel trapped in the same sound all the time, the variation is quite present within that range that Sabled Sun presents you with. Plenty for keeping you listening through the whole release that counts about 62 minutes. There is a slow built into it all though, a little tension plays with your listening experience and may drag you into it more.
Obviously, Simon Heath knows how to find the most descended sounds and put them together to match beautifully. “2145” is a release that therefore listens relatively easily, unlike many others that create music in this genre. Perhaps the post-apocalypse has a pretty side as well, you could see the album as a positive approach to it, nice for a change!
