Sacred Steel – The Bloodshed Summoning

Releasedate: 15-02-2013; Label: Cruz del Sur

“Sacred steel”, the German heavy metalheads, released their eighth full-length album this winter.

Speedy tempo broke all the doubts. We listen to thrash. “Machine gun” drums and guitars fire in the name of metal, steel and glory. The skull-crushing “Under The Banner of Blasphemy” is the best sample of this theory. My personal favorite “Crypts Of The Fallen” parts in several pieces and one of the motifs seems to be cut from another song and it’s really hard mix with the main theme. There are some classic points like Maiden-ish “When the Siren calls” with the long-drawn-out moan “saaaiiren” in refrain and well-known riffs. Not less mighty tracks are “The Night They Came To Kill” (classy melodic metal with vigorous riffs) and “Join The Congregation” with soft intro and riffs fired again for over seven minutes. The last track “Doomed To Eternal Hell” is just soft instrumental track which provides calm after storm but then fast percussive beats and low-register guitar riffs brought bonus tracks section. “Perversions Of The Scriptures” is another sample of thrash. The voice doubles it. The unexpected bonus “Dig Up Her Bones” (“The Misfits” cover) in the dark but funny way (pretty close to original) made the album almost priceless.

You have choice to melt before the fire or just listen to “Sacred Steel”. Trust me, it’s the same.
