Dionisyan – Land of Dreams

Dionisyan is a project by Tregor Russo from Italy. Formed in 2010 with the purpose of making Melodic Death/Doom Metal. The first demo got out in 2012, it is called: “Land of Dreams”.

It’s a short demo, four tracks but the first and last are short ones, so the essence of the music lays within the two tracks. “Touch My Hands” starts quite slowly, an introduction to the doom atmosphere but when the vocals come in you start to feel it is building towards something, a climax that takes its time to come through. Maybe not even such as you expected. The guitars set a nice part of the atmosphere, while the vocals could have brought depth into it. That may be something that could be worked on. A little variance that gives it all a some more dynamic.
“Angel of Seduction” starts as a track that is quite similar to the previous one. It has a little more playfulness though.
Overall the demo showcases some good idea of what Dionisyan wants to go to. But compare it to the titans from the north, Swallow The Sun for example, and you know the guys have something to work on still. For a first demo it sets a promise though, one to keep your eyes on.
