Vulture Kult – Don’t Let Rock n’ Roll Ruin Your Life

Releasedate: 02-07-2012

When the economical crisis hit the world, somewhere in Canada was formed the rock band named “Vulture Kult”. Doesn’t matter to what cult belongs the title “Don’t let rock n’ roll ruin your life” sounds more than intriguing.

After first listening I had no words except “how rock and roll can be so monotonous?!” Then the catchy riffs of “Avenue H.” shook my brain cells with huge portion of pure rock n’ roll and commanded to go further. The energetic and explosive combination of paranoid “Black Sabbath” motifs (and some spices in vocal part), raw notes of “Stooges” punk and stoned tempo. The southern riffs opened the album and did it right. Despite of unexpectedly cover art pictured the satanic goat in the pentagram shape, everything was ok. The bluesy chords of “Welcome to the land of the dead” reminds of short circuit. Swirling vultures also included. As in track “Vultures from above” with so rhythmic motif and sawing chords. In contrary with dynamic part there are several tracks which I may call touching. For instance, bubbling “Movie of me” or only instrumental track “Checking out” (strange title of last track, huh?) which closed such a contradictory album.

Don’t let the crappy music ruin your life! Eight of ten points go to this album.
