De Magia Veterum makes Avant-garde black Metal. The man behind it, Mories, has a Dutch origin and this year a fourth full length release comes out. “The Deification” is available now.
Mories, known from diverse projects like Gnaw Their Tongues, Aderlating and many others has come with a new album. Always something to look forward to as well as fear, because these releases are usually leaving you that feeling of drama, confusion and darkness. As well as this release. Screeching sounds shivers down your spine, the realization that if you close your eyes it all may become a bit too close to you so instead you experience it with your eyes open, that does not guarantee you have some sort of visualization with it. The instruments are bringing rage and hear that bass getting so strong in the release that it sometimes turns out in such a surprising way that even though you should expect the unexpected when it comes to releases like this, it comes as something that no one had foreseen.
Compared to the previous releases of De Magia Veterum this one may be a little less accessible, as if you could call any of the releases accessible anyway. “The Deification” shows that there is no limit reached yet and that the album tops the work done before while you may not have expected it being able to get more creepier at all.
