Voodoma is a German formation making Dark Rock/Metal. The band came together in 2002 and released four albums before their latest “Bridges To Disturbia” came out.
To describe the sound of Voodoma you may quickly come to the conclusion that there is some mix of elements in there. Taken the parts of what the band likes and try to blend it into one is the way many work, but in the case of Voodoma it does not really seem to work out very well. Parts that do not give you the impression it is one sound, it is just a collection of different things without a connection between them. For a band that has that many years and release on the counter you might expect a little more diversion and creativity in their sound and at least somehow of an identity. Yet this album gives us a collections of tracks without a soul. Trying to look for some positive points in this release, you come back to the synths, which seem to bring a bit of atmosphere to it at least.
Unfortunately Voodoma have failed to leave a good impression with this album, perhaps a next one will be more clear but when the guys keep going like this it is simply not worth buying, better ones will be around.
