“The Cult” is that kind of formation for what naming like something shamanistic is obvious. These US citizens practice the stadium rock or something like that for over twenty five years.
The entire album is quiet but not monotonic. So there always direction exists, running fast from something. For instance, in the opening track “Honey from a Knife”. The excellent rock guitars solo, great back vocal and the drums line that makes your toes tap with that beat includes. Another lyrics theme is being chained and unchained. Adding piano line to the “Life > Death” track makes song wonderful. The key track “For animals” is pretty unique. The lyrics have lots of questions and lots of answers for them. “Just pitch your mantra to go to hell”. The music themes are pretty different in the entire song. In “Wilderness Now” every word singing as shooting the bullets. My personal favorite track is “Lucifer” that full of emotion and guitar slides. Mumbling zillion times “you’re my Lucifer” accompanying wild guitar riffs are great combination. And the last mentioned track would be the last track literally. The powerful song with brilliant lyrics.
I guess “The Cult” chose the music and words as a weapon. The real pleasure for ears.
