German formation Mundtot makes Dark Alternative Rock music. In the year 2010 the band released their first EP “Endzeit”. This year it is time for them to release their debut album. It is called “Spätsommer” and it is out now.
As cheesy as it may be to say, the album opens with a track that has a very Rammstein touch. But fair enough, that changes within a few minutes when the other tracks come in. It has a dark vocals singing German lyrics and calm instrumentals. Most of the tracks are quite slow and with the sounds used the danger is there that it all get a bit boring if there is not enough variation in the tracks. Mundtot is walking that border having one foot over it already, which is a bit of a pity as the last tracks are giving back a different side of them again, but it just takes too to get there. The band could probably experiments a little more to make the songs stick longer. As a debut album it is not that bad, it shows a start for them, but for a next album there some progress would be essential to make people enjoy it longer.
Tracklist: Endzeit Kein zurück Felsenfest Lebensleid Falscher Stolz Virus Mensch Zweites Gesicht Ein Zwischenspiel Tanz den Untergang Spätsommer Viel zu viel |
