Paceshifters – Home

Releasedate: 27-04-2012; Label: Simpatico
By: Sabine van Gameren

Paceshifters are a Dutch Alternative Rock formation that started in 2008. The trio got their album out two years later and anno 2012 they are ready to show the world their second full length release called: “Home”.

Good old Rock and Roll will always come around, the youngsters of Paceshifters found their twist with it also and created their version of it. A little less raw than you may have expected, perhaps the clean production helped with that and the guys seem to had the plan to engage modern times into their sound with a little indie here and there. The clearly like to observe different directions within their sound, but what comes out very positive is that there seem to be a red thread within it, the songs remain in touch with each other and make it a one-faced record. While the band has quite some action going on, they also take the time to slow it down a bit and let the listener catch up with them. Above all “Home” shows a band that has still so much to tell. After twelve tracks the album is full but you will find plenty hints that these three guys are experimenting and have way more in their pocket still. It’s energetic and we will be confronted with more from where this came from, it’s just a matter of time. A remarkable release with international allure coming from Dutch grounds.
