The Hiram Key – Amerikafka

Releasedate: 07-10-2011; Label: Echozone
By: Sabine van Gameren

The Hiram Key is a band from London making Goth/indie rock. The band had their debut album out in 2010, the album “The Hiram Key” is out now.

To get an idea of the music the band is making there is pretty much one closing description: The Cure. Must be said the album has been released before and now goes more international while releasing it via Echozone. To create a little extra, the band recorded a few new songs to add to the track list and with these they may go w bit wilder than on the rest of the release, indicating they try to give their sound a little more power. It is an album that now works well and with this extra vehemence they may get a bit more attention. On the vocal side you might get a little bored, annoyed even. Some moments do not really work out that well but straight across there are some truly gorgeous moments so your feelings towards this release may be going up and down during the track list. When the guys could stabilize this a bit more, the album would get a little stronger. It is not letting you down, the band has a good idea of what they want to do, but the time and experience will make them stronger.
