Arsine Tibé is a solo project of Manfred Thomaser, known as a member of !Distain. His album “Good Evening, The Mountain Said” is out now.
The album appears a bit experimental, starting of with “Light”, an experience that could have come of a Sigur Ros album as well, but as opposite you get “Darkness” which surely pays homage to its name and sets you to a darker mood. The melodic side of the music make it all quite dreamy. Here and there some psychedelic elements make it a bit deeper, allowing you to focus on the instruments some more, when before the vocals are often quite dominating and require you to focus on the story that is told. “Maximum Boy” is a song that focus more on the instrumental side and gives the impression it is recorded live while scenes of a bar are added to the track.
Obviously, “Good Evening, The Mountain Said” is a far from a standard album. It has all these little oddities that make the album special. It carries different moods, from the happy songs to the more dark and sad songs, but what they all have in common is intensity. A gorgeous album that can keep you listening time after time.
