Agincourt is a British Heavy Metal formation started in 1991. Influenced by the NWOBHM the band released some material until they split up 1997. Eleven years later the band got back together and in 2009 they started working on their first album. At the end of 2010 it was finished, “Angels of Mons” is out now.
With bands like these it is always nice to get back a bit of a nostalgic feeling and Agincourt is giving this to you. “Angels of Mons” is an album with an old school sound, a far from shiny production, but giving you that Heavy Metal feeling right away. It is catchy, the guitars are driving and playful but never break out too much. It is not a band that shows of just for the sake of it, but has their compositions well thought. Keeps it interesting, so this is quite welcome. The band meets Iron Maiden and Saxon with their sound and even the vocals might come close to Saxon’s vocalist. Heavy Metal fans that like the old school touch to an album, without too much polish are probably the ones who will enjoy “Angels of Mons” most. They are keeping the sound alive.
