Royal Hunt – Show Me How To Live

Releasedate: 02-12-2011; Label: Frontiers Records
By: Milla Smile

“Royal Hunt” was founded in Denmark about twenty years ago. The eleventh album of the band provides the return of American singer D.C. Cooper to collaboration with founder, producer and keyboards player Andre Andersen.

The total length of the album is only 45 minutes made by 7 melodic and hard tracks. That’s no doubt the cover shows how to live. You can see the battle field and brave hearted knight as imagine the sound of clash of arms and neighing of horses. So if you really want to live be able to start fighting. What about music. This is polished and good mastered piece of hard music. Rich keyboards arrangement, strong back vocals chorus and killer guitar riffs. Plus every track has impressive intro.

I want to point the track which takes a quarter of the entire album. This is titled 10-minutes ballad with about half of song’s length only instruments’ work. By the way that work reminds of someone not to be named else work. The main theme “show me how to live” was singing in dozen different intonations and turning into more and more emotional power second by second. The good thing is we have the knights in 21st century singing highly melodic ballads. The earth still spins round.
