Supports: Bill Skins Fifth; Venue: Keikkamesta, Salo (Finland)

With a new album, “Beneath”, recently released, Finnish melodic death metal band Amoral were ready to rock the stage of Keikkamesta. Tonight was actually the opening of this new venue, which is located in the heart of Salo, Finland.
| The first band to enter the stage was Bill Skins Fifth. The guys come from Salo, which made them have quite some people waiting for them already before the start of the gig. They spread the energy straight away, showing their death metal fits quite perfectly with the kind of music of the headliners of the evening. Not so many people were present during the performance yet, but those who were there seemed to enjoy their performance quite a lot. It’s clear how into the music the band is, and seeing that kind of passion was definitely interesting. Too bad not so many people made it to see them, but they’ll surely have the chance to happen on this stage soon again. |
| When Amoral started to play, it was clear that the people we were waiting to fill the venue would not come at all. That doesn’t seem to harm their performance not a bit though. On the other hand, they almost took it as a chance to get the few people present into the atmosphere as much as possible. On its favour, the band has quite some elements: the technique, which is doubtlessly a common skill shared among the members of the band; the energy, that they manage to spread so easily throughout the whole show; and the alchemy among the members themselves. Despite the recent line-up changes (the singer first, who changed into Ari Koivunen, and the guitarist more recently, who is now Masi Hukari), all of the five seem very confortable, tight together and don’t pay attention to the lack of people in the crowd. Maybe the concert was not enough advertised or maybe the venue is not enough popular yet, but it’s sure that Amoral was a great way to launch Keikkamesta. |
