Pyrrhon is a death metal band from Brooklyn, New York. They released their first full-length, “An Excellent Servant But A Terrible Master” in 2011.
Pyrrhon presents us an album that is quite spectacular. Yes, Death Metal is there and with full aggression it is, but yet the band comes with their own ideas of how to do this. Surely refreshing even though as a final product it is not something that sounds like you have never before, but it is also not a release that you have heard many times before. Strong riffs, quite technical as they are, creating a dynamic musical playgarden that draws your attention. Then there are the vocals which are diverse so a perfect extension of the guitars and the rest of the band finishes it off with an exciting instrumental part. Simply an interesting way of mixing different elements to create an album that is giving just that little extra to your collection.
“An Excellent Servant But A Terrible Master” will find its way to the Death Metal listener, it is the band’s debut album and promising enough to say that we hope to see the band live as well and that they may keep doing what they are doing.
