Releasedate: 2011; Label: Doomentia Records
By: Sabine van Gameren
Doomdogs are a band from Sweden. They are created in 2007 after releasing a full length debut album in 2010 the band returns now with a second album “Unleash The Truth”.
The name obviously points you already to the Doom you can find in their sound, but next to that the band also has a large portion of Stoner in their sound. That’s why you should not be surprise to hear the tempo in the songs may be a bit faster than expected. It may be searching to where this band brings in variation. They are going on steady throughout the whole record with their heavy guitars, but here and there they decide to make a little de-tour from the highway and go a bit deeper.
The release is quite steady and has its strength in the guitars. Maybe the band is not surprising too much, but with this album they show that they organize it all quite well and they know what they want. If that comes with the quality they give this is simply a release that doom fans like to have. The band may grow a bit when it comes to the variation, but furthermore it is a good release.
