Gallows Pole was formed back in 1977 in Vienna, Austria. In 1980 the band went to England to record their first full length album “In Rock We Trust”. After the many things the band has gone through over the years the band is still around and comes with their new album “Waiting For The Mothership”.
Interesting, the band brings up the 70’s feeling instantly, but manage to do this without having old school/outdated production over it. The band has a bit of a doom feeling over it, depressing but yet giving the idea of having many exciting things going on in life. Maybe technically the band is not one that kicks it high, it remains all a bit simple. Lyrical and instrumental. You may also find a clear reference to the band’s inspiration, maybe a bit too obvious for some. In the end you find yourself liking this band more than you expected. Simply, a band that makes me appreciate this form of classic rock music more.
