Falloch is a band from Scotland making atmospherical Post Rock/Metal. The band is quite young, they started in 2010 but with a strong vision of what they want. Their debut album “Where Distant Spirits Remain” is out now on Candlelight Records.
The atmospherical part clearly has its dominance in this release and as after you started listening you get transferred into a dreamy world, the soft sounds make you think of a winter wonderland and you running around in it, occasionally feeling the winter spirits come over having a bit of dark, doomy mood in there. Obviously this description may easily point you towards the many Black Metal bands that go into this direction, but this band remains from that. The vocals are clean and soft, maybe not the strongest point in the music but also remain far from being a highly important element in their sound. Then the band right now is only the founding duo. How this will turn out when the band starts playing live gigs is yet to question, but they announced they are looking for musicians.
“Where Distant Spirits Remain” is simply a gorgeous album with loads of atmosphere and will probably attract audiences from different genres. Yet you hear they will need some time to grow as well, but with such a nice debut album the expectations are set.
