Work of Art is an AOR formation from Sweden. The Swedes started in 1992 but it took some years before they started to put some more time in the project. In 2008 the band band finally came with a debut album and this year the band is back with their second: “In Progress” is out now.

Work of Art is bring you some steady rock songs with a lovely melodic edge, often finding its basis in the keys and the guitars. This really lays their base solid for vocalist Lars to come on in. His voice is a good match with the overall quite poppy sound. The way you like the production of this album, may be quite linked to your expectations. It all has little things to spice it up some more and therefore sometimes a bit too much perhaps, but in general the guys have found a good balance in it. Apparently the band has some plans in mind to change their style a bit, seeing the title “In Progress” so what they will do in the future may be much different from this release, but so far it is a gorgeous release that puts the band right in between the major names in AOR showing them there is still some space to play around, making it a slightly bit different than that what is out already.
