Singer/Songwriter? Some would probably call it Contemporary Folk or Americana. But no matter how you call it, what finally remains is: Making music and telling stories.
After releasing their debut album in 2010 Moonband is now already releasing their follow-up called “The Significance of Denavigation”. Moonband’s new album comes with twelve tracks. The cover and album layout are breathtaking already. So detailed and brilliant artwork, you can tell this band really cares for their image and sat down thinking about artwork and how it all goes together for a long time. Already in the cover you can see the passion of the band for what they are doing. But enough about the layout. This is about music! So as I pressed play it was as if somebody switched on the relax button, no stress and just letting your mind float along. The music is somewhere between folk and country. Banjo, glockenspiel, Ukulele and all these instruments give the music a soul, put life into it, a mind of its own. Mainly slow music sneaks up to you and digs deep in your mind, resting there and blocking your mind from bad thoughts. Like bone fire stories the songs are telling tales. Tales about a different life, a different time a different space, close yet far. Because actually the songs are about here and now, lost in space, for you to find and bring back to where they belong. Moonband takes your mind on a journey, not only to the moon but far beyond. Simply brilliant. Get lost in “The Significance of Denavigation”. The new Moonband album, out now!
