The Rain I Bleed – Narcissist

Releasedate: 12-08-2011; Label: Twilight Zone
By: Sabine van Gameren

The Rain I Bleed is a metal formation from Greece. The band is quite young, formed in 2008 and come with their debut full length release “Narcissist”.

The band makes symphonical metal with female voices, yet another band going this road and also The Rain I Bleed does not succeed in making a big difference and bring something really unique to the genre, but the band has quite good guitarists with them. Not only due to the guest performances of Jonas Kjellgren of Scar Symmetry and Jeff Loomis of Nevermore, but the band self has a strong basis here with them. The rest of the instruments are not really bad either, but not standing out either. Same for the vocals. There are plenty of bands with worse vocals, but vocalist Mina is not really the most standing out front woman either. But considering this is the bands very first release they made quite a decent album. They have decent song writing skills and a good production for “Narcissist” so when they grow a bit they probably highlight their own identity a bit more so probably the next release will have more character as well.
