The Italian band Blue Velvet is a TBM/Industrial project that was born in 1999, with the meeting of two of the members Dogh and Andy. The debut album “The Third” was released in 2006 after the two members Malcom 11 and DarkendDawn joined the band. “Rotation” is their new album released on the Italian label Breakdown Records and includes 9 tracks with re-worked versions from previous album featuring pure electronics together with Drum & Bass and Techno Body Music.
The cover of the new Blue Velvet release “Rotation” shows an x-ray of a hand – or rather the fingers only. The connection between cover and album title are not easily revealed on first sight and leave a whole lot of room for interpretation. As said before, this album includes nine tracks. It seems like a typical thing for industrial bands that their song titles are all pretty offensive and maybe even exaggerated or full of egomania. Same with this album when taking a look on the title list. The vocals on the album are totally distorted and the industrial music is quite repetitive. Taking out one song for an industrial party is a perfect use for these songs, listening to this album from first to last does require you to be a true industrial fan though. The music on “Rotation” is quite fast and harsh. It will definitely get some rotation on the dance floor, one way or the other. The new Blue Velvet release “Rotation” is out now.
