By: Nina Mende

Private Line is a hard rock band from Helsinki, Finland, formed during the mid-1990s (in Jyväskylä, a city in the center of Finland) and continuing today. Finally their third album is being released called “Death Decade”.

All of you loyal readers know that I am a Private Line fan, so you all can imagine how happy I was as I finally got their long awaited new album “Death Decade”. It has been five years since their last album “Evil Knievel Factor”. Expectations were high for the new album. “Death Decade” totally met the expectations. Eleven tracks that are quite different from what we have heard of the guys before. Darker, deeper, more grown up and full of experience of life. The melodies are very catchy and leave a trace, maybe even a scar on your heart or soul. Songs tend to burn themselves into your memory with their deep dark lyrics and floating melodies, like shadows they are hard to grab but always there. This album definitely sticks. Private Line did not turn into a gothic band nor have they ever been a super happy and bright pop band but the music has been about parties, drugs, girls and such. Now it is about the scars that left in their lives, the damage all the sins have caused. “Death Decade” is a milestone, a warning for those that are about to sin and a companion in misfortune for those who have sinned in the past. A rusty playground left behind, squeaking and overshadowed by the past. But one thing this album definitely is not: Depressing! It still rocks and carries hope, life goes on, but now there are stories to tell. And these stories are on “Death Decade”. By seeing their first released video for “Dead Decade” which is in cooperation with Greenpeace you can also take this album as a warning for what mankind has done to earth and is till doing, about what will happen if mankind keeps on going this way and destroys nature as if we didn’t need it. However you want to take it, this album is serious. The lyrics are deep and definitely worth listening to closely and taking some time to think about them. The once “Prozac Nation” now turned into a “Death Decade” carrying bullets in hands. ‘This is gonna hurt’ as Nikki Sixx would probably say. Private Line’s new album leaves you speechless and breathless and won’t go by you without making a change. And so can you. Make the world a better place, help your environment and yourself. An awesomely rocking soundtrack to this mayor change and mindset is brought to you by Private Line on “Death Decade”. Out now!
