The poet laureates of Chicago’s skid row, Victorian Halls are the rare type of band that exist in the little space where art and punk meet – the type of band that can blend unadulterated pop songwriting with wailing Banshee-like vocals to create a strangely magical, vaudevillian wonder. Victorian Halls’ newest album is out now and is called “Charlatan”. A very interesting album that is definitely worth some attention.
Victorian Halls is a electronic pop rock punk band with two vocalists that have quite different voices, one could be mistaken as a girl that simply knows how to rock, the other one shouts and sound unmistakably like a male. Fast, thriving and energizing this album blasts right in your face. Thirteen songs to push your pulse to the limits. This album makes you want to move. The lyrics are taken out of life and sing about stuff everyone can relate to. The cover is quite interesting and very detailed. You should definitely take a close look at it. The song “Upper East Side” slightly reminds of songs Jeffree Star does. “Charlatan” is an album that definitely kicks ass and keeps speeding up more and more. Enjoy the new Victorian Halls’ release “Charlatan”. Out now.
