It is the Sunday evening after returning from a business trip from Berlin and a little show of my own I was back in the Nachtleben to see Lacrimas Profundere. They were not the only band playing tonight though, there were three others to play. Only one of them I did know: Eden. I had seen them twice before.
The club was quite crowded. Mostly Goths and some medieval people were in the audience. Only a few of neither nor. First band was Eden, a local band, singing in English. The band EDEN consists of five young musicians, founded in 2006 and changed three of five positions in September 2008.The music is dark, melancholic and gloomy. The singer has a great voice and likes to play with the audience and people taking pictures. The music reminds of something between 69eyes and HIM. The audience liked them a lot, cheered and clapped along. They did a great job as opener and I am sure we will hear more of them someday.
Next band was Dark Diamonds, another German band but they also sang in German. The music was very industrial and cold. The singer was moving a lot on stage, but somehow this performance wasn’t too captivating. The cheering was much less than before and the people didn’t enjoy it as much.
The third band of the night was called Das Scheit, a local band singing in English. Their music was industrial as well, but had more rock elements. Their show was somehow better than the band before. It was probably also the guys getting more in touch to the audience. For a song they had snow falling down on the stage. The band members somehow reminded me of Mono Inc.
Last band was Lacrimas Profundere, another German band singing in English. Dark and gloomy music, lyrics full of melancholy and dark romance is what they sound like. The fans loved it, sang along and cheered loudly. As the band entered the stage there was so much fog that you could hardly see anything not to say anything at all. The singer has a great voice which touches you deep. The band had fun on stage. They played songs off all albums. Their show lasted for about an hour and they also came back for an encore. The band talked a lot with the audience and was closer to them than the two bands playing before them. A familiar feeling came up in the crowded venue. Everybody danced and had a good time. What a great Sunday night.
