Sonik Foundry is an industrial/EBM act from USA who released its debut album “Mechanized” in 2009 via Hitman Records. Anno 2011 the album “Parish of Redemption” is out via Nilaihah records.
Nicademus, the man behind Sonik Foundry, has had a past as a DJ and a project called Cybersonic. But Sonik Foundry seems more relevant to him nowadays and with this new release there is more of Sonik Foundry to be seen than before. The album has the confidential sound that came with Mechanized but in some way a bit more fury comes in. It is this little aggression that adds some passion and while the vocals are still clean as always it is easy to follow what direction you are pushed into. Even though there is a little more aggression in this album, There is no way it turns away from the catchiness. “Parish of Redemption” is yet another album that is made for the dance floor. At the ends it may tempt to play a bit with your feelings with taking it a bit back in speed and what seems a little darker on “Destiny”. The album ends with a remix of “The Wakening” which sets you straight back to the stereotypical Sonik Foundry sound. There are simply not too much remarks to make on this release. Just enjoy it.
