Devil-M is a German Industrial/Rock-Band formed in 2003 by Max Meyer. Anno 2011 the guys that stand behind the name comes with the album “Kannst Du Sterben”.

Although the album title is in German, the songs are all in English. It is full of ambient moments combined with typical industrial sounds. Quite diverse as it goes from very calm and minimalistic parts towards more aggressive and electronic sounds. Actually, this release is a continuation of the release “Willst Du Sterben”. This does not mean you can’t listen to it as an individual record as it stands quite on its own. It has much danceable moments but the music seems more suitable to play while you are on to something. This because of its diversity. It has a quite depressive side and goes slow as if the doom is all over it. There is some tension building in it but it often takes quite a while before reaching the climax of the sound, which may be a trap of this sound. As a bonus this album has a couple of remixes by other projects as well, which may change your whole perspective on the songs. For example the song “Hold Me” has very interesting remixes.
Overall, “Kannst Du Sterben” is an interesting album. You must be prepared for some depressive songs with calmer moments next to more up-tempo parts, but it is really worth to give it a try.
