As We Climb is a British Pop/Punk formation. It seems quite a young formation as the band recently released their debut EP called: “Let It Show”.
Wow, be prepared for a lot of sugar with As We Climb, a band that have dreamy pop/punk songs with the typical teenage vibe over it. Musically we heard this many times before, a clean production, songs that go about every day life material for teenagers and catchy choruses. It is obvious that the guys have not focused on bringing a lot of energy with their music as much as it could have been considering the punk part of their sound, but remained closer to the pop edge. What strikes a little is that the songs does not really have a lot of variation, which would be killing if this was not an EP but an album. Since the band is not there yet, there is something to work on. Luckily “Let It Show” is an EP which makes this still ok to listen to, but it should not have been longer. Their strongest parts are definitely their catchiness and the vocals which seem quite steady. This comes forward most in the song “Catch Em While You Can”.
Maybe a bit more of a raw production would have given it more balls and a more varied audience, but it sounds like a band that will find an audience anyway. Chart topper in a few years, here is As We Climb.
