Fortune Favours The Brave is a quintet from Essex, UK that has recently released their first album, “Through the Bullets and Bloodstains” in late April 2011 under Transcend Records. The band was founded in 2006 on the ashes of My Own Enemy and had several names before turning it to Fortune Favours The Brave.
What the band brings is Metal core and it comes with decent level. A solid drums in the back, some strong riffing combined with low grunting vocals. Seems like the base is quite ok and after listening it a couple of times it turns out the band remains quite entertaining. It is surely not a new invention but the guys bring their sound in such a way that it sticks. The band has a strong intro and the war theme within the album comes quite as if it wants to force you into it. The technical part stands upfront and the band seem to want to temper it a bit with the theme but maybe this is a bit too much.
But overall the band has made a nice debut. It has some strong points and shows that the band has potential to grow substantially. “Through the Bullets and the Bloodstains “ is one that you want to have in your collection!
