Releasedate: 20-05-2011; Label: Epsilon – Truly Yours and In Love (20-05)
By: Sabine van Gameren
Epsilon is a band from Austria. Primarily conceived to play Thrash-Metal with HipHop-vocals, they recorded their first EP entitled „Simple Life“ in 2006. Due to line up changes the music changed to Death/Thrash Metal as it is now. Anno 2011 the band releases “Truly Yours and In Love.”
What the band mostly radiates is the old school Death Metal, and they seem to adopt this approach strongly. A strong vocal side, quite upfront in the music and perhaps a the part that attracts most attention. Yet because it still has the catchiness in them, while they actually step away from it. Song’s just stick in mind easily and besides the vocals the guitars have a major part in that. The aggression in the music makes up for it anyway and gives you the idea that this is a great band to see live. “Truly Yours and In Love” is a strong release as it has an impact on you and the songs are logically arranged, with the guys having the decent quality. It may not be the most original music in the scene, it has been done before and there will be plenty who will do it again, but it comes with the right level and therefore has perfect right of existence.
