Freedom Call is a Power Metal band from Germany. They started in 1998 and released six studio albums so far. Now the band released alive DVD/CD called “Live in Helvettia”
In 2010 Freedom Call went on tour with their latest release “Legend of The Shadowking” and after all the time of their musical career they found it about time to release a DVD. Since I received the album, I can’t tell you about the visual part, but the audience is still hearable in the CD version which tells me this show, recorded in Pratteln, was one with a brilliant atmosphere. “Freedom Call, Freedom Call” is cheering even before the band started and the audience is up for quite some participation as it sounds. In the setlist/tracklist the band have chosen some material from all albums, which makes this album a nice one to have as it is an overview of what they have done. Of course the band also has a magnificient drumsolo on the album, which brings the Freedom Call atmosphere around. A perfect album for Freedom Call fans! For those who are less familiar with this band, it may be wiser to choose a studio recorded album first to get to know the band first or see the band playing at a festival.
