The Norwegian Progressive/Power Metal band Pagan’s Mind have taken their time to make a new album but it is finally here. “Heavily Ecstasy” is out now.
It is the band’s fifth release and they made sure the album is one that is melodic and catchy enough for you not to forget about it. After the first time you hear the song “Eyes Of Fire” you are already humming along and this continues with the other ten tracks on the album as well. Besides the strong melodies there are also some credits to give to vocalist Nils K. He have done a good job on the album and those whoa re familiar with the previous releases of the band will notice he did a step forward on it. It must be admitted that eventually the album appears a bit cheesy and predictable. A lovely ballad that completely underlines this statement, but the band does not cross the border. The Norwegians found a golden balance between Power Metal and Progressive, making it very accessible for those who are not into those typical Power Metal edges, but as well leave the Prog fans with a satisfied feeling. Hopefully the guys stay on this path and may another creative period rain down on them, because after this album, no one likes to wait that long again before a new release will be ready.
