Sixx:A.M. is a hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2007 by Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba, and James Michael, and is the side project of Sixx, who is also the bass guitarist for Mötley Crüe. The group is best known for their song “Life Is Beautiful”. The name Sixx:A.M. is a combination of all of the member’s last names (Sixx, Ashba, Michael).
The new album of Sixx A. M. is out, finally. After “Heroin Diaries” the new album is called “This IS Gonna Hurt”. Just like the previous album, Nikki Sixx released a book just shortly prior to the album with the same title, including song fragments in the book. Eleven tracks are on the album “This Is Gonna Hurt”. Eleven tracks packed with emotions that definitely cut deep. The cover shows a human heart pierced with nails, a painful image that fits perfectly well to the content of the album. Each song is telling a story, a story that cuts deep and leaves a scar. Each and every song on this album is impressive, able to stand alone and gets stuck in your head for long. Not only because of the catchy melodies and awesome choruses but also because of the story. “This Is Gonna Hurt” is an album that makes you think about your life and life itself, and about death. Love and pain, and how it shapes you and the world around you. Sixx A.
