Warrant is an American glam metal band from Hollywood, California that experienced success from 1989-1996 with five albums reaching international sales of over 10 million. The band continued performing and recording albums throughout the 1990s and the 2000s despite several changes to their lineup and with the latest change being that Robert Mason is their newest vocalist the band comes with their new album “Rockaholic”.
Warrant may have had some lineup changes through the years, but the actual idea of the band never substantially changed. The glam is still there and the compositions that are brought on “Rockaholic” have the same feeling as what they have done before. Robert Mason has a voice that may be a little bit more raw, but that actually suits quite nice. Maybe in the past you wouldn’t take them very serious, songs as “Cherrie Pie” in your mind, but the band have gotten older and that is what you may find back in their songs as well. Typical Hair Metal brought anno 2011 and with a dedication as if they are still up for a first confront with the world, having to convince them of their music. Warrant really believes in what they make and they seem to have a lot of joy in it. When that comes through the music you halfly won already and that shows that “Rockaholic” is an album that will score easily under fans of this genre. To be recommended.
