Gavin Friday is an Irish singer and songwriter, composer, actor and painter. He was a founding member of the post-punk group The Virgin Prunes and has recorded several solo albums and soundtracks. Gavin Friday also collaborated with various artists. After four albums of his own with the last one being released in 2002, he is now back, after nine years, with a new album called “Catholic”.
This album by Gavin Friday comes with eleven tracks. “Catholic” is telling a story, a story of a life. Accompanied by mellow music that spreads a certain calmness. Touchy and emotional, sometimes romantic, Gavin Friday captures the journey of life quite well. A brilliant piece of art Gavin Friday has created with “Catholic”. He captured something indescribable in his music, more than just a feeling or an atmosphere, more like a world itself. The lyrics are very interesting. You can’t take your mind of it while the album is playing. Somehow Gavin Friday catches your attention as has a way to keep it. And that’s only one amazing attribute this album has to offer. Gavin Friday’s album “Catholic” is a must have for fans and non-believers. Simply brilliant. Gavin Friday is a true artist!
