Thrash Metal formation Pequod releases their debut album “Forgotten”. The German band have released a MCD in 2004 and some demo’s before.
The band has a strong package, the instrumentals bring a strong back and on the vocal side there is enough of variation as well. What may be a point to fall over is the fact that it is all a bit cheesy and done before. A little more originality would bring much enlightment. This form of Modern Thrash may have been done by many already so if you hear that riff coming you may wonder which band was their reference. Try to break free from it because the band have organized their songs very well. As if the template was there and the pieces only had to be made to fit in. “Forgotten” knows good moments, the musicians are able to create good songs, the riffs are tight and sharp. It is to hope that on a future release the band breaks free from the stereotype and puts a little more of themselves in here. “Forgotten” is a predictable release and none of the songs stand out enough to remember, which makes the title become reality sooner than wanted.
