“Pledge: A Tribute To Kerbdog” is a tribute album dedicated to the Irish rockband Kerbdog. Although the band has recorded only two albums before they stopped playing in 1998, they have influenced many bands.
Thirteen different artists have made a cover of their favorite Kerbdog songs. A band that may not be known to everyone, but seem to be larger in the Irish music scene. According the info supplied with this album, it seem to be a quite underrated band. It will a though job to judge the covers as the originals are not familiar for me, but on what I can tell about these thirteen songs is that even though they are brought by different artists they form one line and the songs seem to be built quite well. I can imagine why they are considered as an underrated band. Whether it is a slow acoustic song or a more up tempo Rock song, it seem to work out quite well. These thirteen artists give a good impression of what Kerbdog was about. Too bad they are not around anymore, but fans can enjoy this album. If people who don’t know the band will bother to look into them, I doubt, but I can definitely recommend it.
