Mike Tramp got fame as being the front man of the Hardrock band White Lion. He gave voice to hits as “Broken Heart, “Cry For Freedom”, “Little Fighter” and “When The Children Cry”. Next to White Lion he released also a couple of solo albums and in 2009 the first album with The Rock ‘n’ Roll Circuz came out. This year another release of them is ready: “Stand Your Ground”.
For those who have always loved the voice of Mike Tramp the news of this album is just great. This album gives you exactly what you are used to. The softness of his voice combined by great, melodic and catchy songs. Not turning his back on some harder topics this album includes also some political statement songs. Mike sings in “The Soldier Never Started The War” how he feels about the topic and it is a welcome change in between the love themed songs that are so stereotypical for Mike Tramp and have given him a lot of success through the years. His band The Rock ‘n’ Roll Circuz has done a great job as well. They are modest enough to let Mike take the lead but there is plenty of time for them to show off their own face as well.
Overall there is not much changed to Mike’s concept, but why would you change a winning concept. This album works as it has always done and gives you some gorgeous rock songs that are so cliché but yet so well done that you keep on listening to them.
